Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Fowlerville Elementary School
Fowlerville Community Schools is pleased to announce the near completion of the new Fowlerville Elementary School. The district will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and special event on Friday, November 1 from 4:00-6:00 pm and the community is invited.
The newly constructed building will serve all kindergarten through second grade students in the district. In the coming weeks, staff will begin transitioning and moving into the new building, which will officially open full-time to students and staff on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with the start of the second semester.
This new building was made possible by the $41.9 million dollar bond that voters approved in November 2021. The bond funds are not only being used to construct the new building but also to improve air quality in all buildings (including adding air conditioning), closing the Munn building and creating green space for future athletic improvements. In addition, it includes renovations at H.T. Smith Elementary to house the Little Glad Center, recreation programs and other specialty programs.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place in front of the new building at approximately 4:45 pm on November 1. Parking is available at both H.T. Smith and Kreeger Elementary Schools. There will be food trucks available, complimentary cider and donuts, a book bus, special guests and commemorative t-shirts for sale. At the completion of the ceremony, guests will get to explore the new building by visiting staged classrooms and other areas of the building.
