National Honor Society
National Honor Society works hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers and the community. Membership in this prestigious organization is one of the highest honors bestowed upon our students. The National Honor Society recognizes outstanding scholarship and citizenship. This mix of characteristics is one to be encouraged and cultivated. Membership facilitates continued growth in these important areas.
Selection for National Honor Society (NHS) membership is based on several factors. An overall grade point average of 3.3 or above is required, and ten hours of community service must be completed during high school in a variety of different areas. A student’s ability to demonstrate outstanding personality traits in the form of leadership, service and character is also necessary for inclusion in NHS. NHS seeks to identify and train the leaders of tomorrow. Future success necessitates the early cultivation of the entire individual.
